Oxford Shirts
Oxford shirts, which is made of the oxford cloth is the most popular dress shirt. Some times the word oxford shirt and the dress shirt are used interchangeably. The oxford shirt also called button down shirt is basically a men’s shirt.
With a collar and a full-length opening down the front from the collar to the hem, fastened closed with buttons and a placket, these oxford shirts just look perfect to wear for most of the occasions and mainly as the formal wear. In its normal and standard form an oxford shirt will have very long sleeves with sometimes buttoned or double cuffs. Oxford shirts when used in an in formal way, most men omit the neck tie and may eschew ironing their oxford shirt and tucking the hem in. And also it is a very common practice to leave the top button free.
In general oxford shirts have pleats on the center of the back and on the sleeves just above the cuffs. The most formal type of oxford shirt will have no pockets, but the standard oxford shirt has a single discreet pocket on the wearer's left side, which is a sewn-on patch with a plain upper hem, optionally with a single button for closure. The main usage of this small pocket is as a pocket protector. But as is just large enough to hold a small piece of paper or a few pens, sometimes it is also used for this purpose also. In some cases, less formal oxford shirts may feature larger pockets, dual pockets, or pockets with flap closures.
While projecting a well-groomed appearance, you should take care of the design, the color, the material used and even the size of your oxford shirt so that it doesn’t look odd.
1. Never forget to wash your brand new oxford shirt before wearing it. This will certainly remove any toxic chemicals attached to your oxford shirt and this also makes the material much softer.
2. Check your oxford shirt as often as you can just to see if the buttons are secure, or if there are any loose threads. This certainly avoids any possible embarrassing moments while in a party or in any meeting.

6. Just try and spray your deodorant or cologne on your body and wait for it to dry before wearing the oxford shirt so as to avoid the antiperspirant stains.
7. It is very important to check for stains before pressing. Heat from an iron will permanently set the stain into the fabric.
8. To keep your oxford dress shirts in a nice shape, use wooden or plastic hangers with firm shoulders. Wire hangers will destroy the shape of your oxford dress shirts.
