Introduction
Considering nursing jobs for a career would be a wise choice for any individual. The demand for nursing jobs outweighs the number of nurses in the field. With that said nursing should bring job security for life. With so many baby boomers coming of the retirement age and unfortunately the age when we all need the most medical attention nursing jobs are a wise choice to make when considering what you may want to do with your life.
Another very important thing to consider is the fact once you have your nursing degree you should be able to find a nursing job in area of the country you may choose to live. This is a huge bonus and just one of the many reasons for choosing nursing as your career.
With an estimated 1.9 million registered nurses to date this country still falls short of the demand for about 2 million nursing jobs needed. Estimated shortages of people filling these nursing jobs by the year 2020 are expected to triple.
While some industries are loosing jobs overseas and many people are left out of work, nursing jobs are growing exponentially. In an effort to help eliminate the shortage President Bush has signed the Nurse Reinvestment Act.
There is an ever-rising demand for nursing jobs in hospitals, schools, clinics, public health agencies. Nursing jobs provide the groundwork for many career opportunities and, more importantly, a financially gratifying vocation.
Nursing jobs bear the critical responsibility of the patients’ care and restoring the patients’ health. The common characteristic of nursing jobs is there are a number a people the nurse will have to communicate with like the doctor, patient, patient’s family, hospital staff etc. Thus, nursing jobs not only demand specialized care, but also excellent communication skills to tackle any adverse situation.
Today, nursing jobs constitutes the single largest female workforce in the world. Nursing jobs provide the groundwork for many career opportunities and, more importantly, an individually and financially gratifying vocation.
According to American Nurses Association - The average staff nurse working in all settings earn $35,212, hospital staff nurses earn $36,618, administrators earn $45,071, the average Clinical Nurse Specialist earns $41,226, nurse practitioners earn $71,000, and the Nurse Anesthetists earn a whopping $113,000.
