Linen is a term which is used to describe bed and bath textiles in to day’s context. But actually linen is a material made from the fibers of the flax plant. In the traditional usage linen is used as a synonymous term for towels, sheets and so on.

As flax is one of the high quality and hence costly fabric, linen has got a great demand from the people of upper class society. Italian linen is the most popular variety of all the linens that are available in the market. It is mainly popular in the Northern parts of United States of America ; the rest of the world, slowly following this trend from the last few years. How ever another popular variety of linens; Antica linen is not that far behind. It has got a very good market in Asian and African countries. It is slowly penetrating through the European market also. Both are equally good in quality and in durability. It is just a matter of personal preference in deciding to go for one or the other.

In today’s market linen napkins and linen table cloths are the two most popular things. Normally these materials are in wide use in restaurants, hospitals, private organizations and even in government organizations. Because of the increase in demand for wide varieties the market is responding with so many varieties of colors and designs. It is up to the customer to choose the best possible variety of all the available ones.
